Lattice Crane

This course will present the student with crane basics utilizing lattice type machines. There will be a combination of both the older “friction” type crane as well as the newer “hydraulic” type lattice crane. A strong emphasis will be placed on maintenance, inspection, mechanical adjustments (of the friction types), and operational safety. Each student will also participate in the assembly and/or disassembly of a crane. Course Objective
Gain thorough understanding of terminology, maintenance and repair, erecting boom / CW (in proper sequence) setup, reeving.
Gain experience in multi-line operation, learn techniques for smooth single line operation, learn basics of rigging.
Equipment Required: Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
